Couple Caught Assaulting Georgia Fast-Food Owner over Chicken Order Turn Themselves In

The couple caught on video assaulting a Georgia fast-food owner and her 15-year-old daughter over a chicken order turned themselves in on Wednesday.

Nathaniel Smith and Latasha Smith were transferred to Appling County Jail after turning themselves in to the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, WAGA-TV reported.

They face aggravated assault charges. The couple has outstanding warrants for aggravated battery and cruelty to children, Baxley police said.

Nathaniel and Latasha Smith turned themselves after being caught on video attacking a restaurant owner and her daughter.

The Smiths are accused of assaulting Qwik Chick owner Jeanette Norris and her daughter outside the restaurant in Baxley on June 22.

Security footage shows Latasha Smith slapping and punching Norris repeatedly before Nathaniel Smith gets out his car to sucker punch the teen in the face.

Norris previously told the Daily News that she suffered a broken nose and has to undergo surgery. Her daughter suffered a mild concussion and a black eye, she said.

Both women received medical attention.

Nathaniel Smith complained his chicken was cold and that he didn’t receive enough fries, prompting an argument between Norris and the Smiths before the attack, the business owner said.
