Georgia native named to 2018 U.S. Olympic Bobsled team

An all-American track and field hurdler from Stockbridge, Ga. is now an Olympian.

Chris Kinney, 29, was named to the 2018 Olympic Bobsled team and will be competing in PyeongChang Korea.

Kinney competed for Georgetown University where he broke school records in the outdoor 110m hurdles and indoor 60m hurdles.

“I saw the combine was going on so I decided to try out, and give it a go just as a practice for track,” Kinney said. “I did pretty well and came back the next year and started bobsledding.”

Following college, Kinney spent four years in Japan where he ran professionally, modeled and worked in marketing, according to his Olympic bio. While in Japan, Kinney decided he wanted to try bobsled.

Now, he’s a U.S. bobsled push athlete.

Kinney is all hard work and no play. He knows how to have fun, sing while working out, and can quote almost every episode of ‘Friends’ word for word. Kinney also described his grandfather as his best friend and biggest supporter, according to his bio.

Good luck Chris!
